ahhaha. National Day celebs today. quite fun!
heh. cos we went to skool with near empty bags, den sat arnd playing cards till assembly time at 7.30.
den... we hear de msg and sang some songs...
(MR David? KUO WAS SUCH A SPOILSPORT) lol. pple wan him to go up and sing and eh went to hide. lol.
but miss loo, miss ong, miss sabrina and mrs kuan they all went to sing. hehehe.
i loff our PE teachers(except chang tsai). they are sooo funkae! hehe. grooving on stage!
heh. den about half an hour into de celeb me shuuy gab sarah sneaked back to class to play cards. ahaha.
and our class only have 14 pple cos de rest ponned.
but not as bad as 4/6 which only had 9 pple. hahaha.
ok aniwaez. we played from 8.20 to 9.45
why? cos mrs yeo (de strict aka mean one) came and chased us out. heh. we ran on adrenaline i tell you.
it was so freaky cos she's really strict good thing she din see us playing or else. heh. she jsut told us to go down. urgh. den we were so freaked.ahhaha.
lol. quite fun la.
but wads really great bout today was de movie.
we went to watch The Village.urgh.
BEWARE: SPOILERS AHEAD!
(if you dont wanna know i suggest you stop reading from here on)
ok. so... the village is about this remote village that is located in the clearing of a large forest, and is surrounded all around by it. Colour red is the forbidden colour in the village, as the creatures-who-are-not-to-be-named that lurks in the woods are attracted by it. so they must bury every trace of that colour.
Yellow scares the creatures away, so yellow flags are hung on trees arnd the border.
Lucius Hunt, a young man living in the village, is in love with Ivy walker, the blind daughter of the village elder.
He has a fren called Noah, who has Down's syndrome. so Noah loves Ivy, but Ivy loves Lucius.
One day, when the three of them are sitting on a big rock that is directly in front of the boundary to the woods, Noah placed red berries in Ivy's hands. Lucius was alarmed cos it was red, and he's never seen the berries before. He was thus convinced that noah ventured into the woods and came out unharmed, bringing berries with him.he reported to the elders his concern.
The next day, they found dead animals on their grounds. The animals were stripped of their skin and feathers, but the flesh was untouched.it freaked the people out as it happened again the next day.
The evening of the next day, it was Lucius' turn to apply yellow paint on the trees. he was wearing a yellow cloak that completely covered him. den he ventured into the woods and plucked a handful of red berries. and twigs snapped arnd him but he saw no one. he walked backwards out of the woods and was unharmed.
That night, the alarm sounded and everyone scrambled into their houses. they shut the doors and windows, and went underground. Lucius was hiding behind a house, when he saw a hideous red figure with skin and feathers stuck to its cloak walk from house to house. Ivy was standing in the doorway of her house refusing to move, knowing that Lucius would come for her. He came and grabbed her outstretched hand, and ran to hide underground. when the trapdoor was closed they could hear stamping as the creature(s) broke into the house.
Then from that day on, the creatures kept breaching the grounds, leaving slashed marks of red on the doors of the houses. it was sooo freaky.
Then Ivy and Lucius announced they were gonna get married. Then Lucius was stabbed by Noah the next day, cos noah couldnt understand why Ivy chose Lucius over him.
They then locked Noah up in an outhouse.
Lucius was in grave danger, and Ivy volunteered to walk out of the woods to get important medicine for Lucius.
Her father then revealed the secret of the village to her.
He told her that the creatures were all invented, and the elders dressed up like the creatures to scare the villagers and contain them, for the do not want contact with the outside world. so they killed their own animals and stuff at night to make it real.
so he showed her the horrible costume they had for it, she touched it and freaked out but she understood.
so she went alone into the woods. but the scary part was when she fell into a traphole, and nearly could not get out. den cos she was blind, she din realise she walked right into a field of red berries. it was SO FREAKY.
den we saw de red figure and we all SCREAMED big time. ahhahaha.but it turned out it was Noah, cos he escaped and all. den Ivy tricked him and made him fall into the pit. and he died there.
it was so freaky while it lasted. and then when ivy got the medicine, i realised they were a secluded group living in the 20th century and were wearing 18th century clothes! gosh. but she brought back medicine for Lucius.
The cinematography and the symbolism were sooo freaky. cos its red la. den when we walked otu we realised the irony cos today is national day celeb lots of people are wearing red. lol. so farnie. but im still freaked. wahahhaha.
its quite good. but urgh. i must pray hard tonight. so freaked out still. and me and peipei and shuuy and chryz screamed ourselves hoarse. hehehe.
